Citizens For Our Betterment - The Rundown
I will attempt to keep daily tabs of everything surrounding the viral monster that is Citizens For Our Betterment, now known as CFOB. So keep checking back as I try to incorporate everything from all the different sites.

Rundown of events and speculation:
- Decaydance Records website “hacked” by Citizens For Our Betterment on Monday August 18, 2008

- MEDIA link within CFOB points to an image of Midtown fans with a face blured out that resembles Gabe Saporta. In turn, the image links to merchnow.com where that same green Midtown shirt worn in the image can be purchased.

what if this is all over for us? - will they be okay? -is this the end or just the beginning?
- CFOB’s first blog entry uses Anton Djamoos as the postee who is well known on AbsolutePunk.net as one of the biggest Midtown fans. Coincidence?
- Ashlee Simpson pictured with pamphlet of alleged hijackers, CFOB Tuesday morning makes the rounds online. It’s specualted that AbsolutePunk.net member, Goldenboy made note of the pamphlet here and could be on the “inside.”

- Fans report in that The Cab have Citizens For Our Betterment plastered all over their instruments at recent shows
- Pete Wentz’s blog entry on ahomeboyslife.com is linked to new sites connected to CFOB on Wednesday August 20, 2008. Most notable to runrightbacktothestart.com

- MTV reveals that Copeland hijacked the CFOB mania Tuesday night by creating a fake citizensfourourbetterment.com sending fans in another direction to runrightbacktothestart.com and ultimately to Copeland’s official site for their new album youaremysunshinealbum.com
- The DATA link on CFOB is activated and points to a form for citizens to fill out

- CFOB’s new blog entry on Thursday August 21, 2008 is from new postee, Kill Time Web Cat with “Cat” linking to thewilliambeckettblog.com. Turns out Kill Time Web Cat is an anagram for William Beckett. In addition, the blog entry’s “Scandals!” pointed to a picture of Panic At The Disco’s Brendon Urie and Ryan Ross making out.
“Exposes! Scandals! Are America’s sweethearts in love with their own sins? It is our responsibility as citizens for our own betterment to find out. Come November fourth we will.”

- William Beckett’s blog is apparently hijacked and CFOB is mentioned along with a hidden link to runrightbacktotheart.com which contains two messages linking back to CFOB


- Midtown’s MySpace posts a bulletin with a video where Rob Hitt (Midtown’s drummer and owner of iSurrender Records) listens to what sounds like a new Midtown song. The title of the video links back to the similar text under the MEDIA section of CFOB. Possible lyrics?
- CFOB updates ACTION link pointing to ex-lead singer of Shiny Toy Guns’ MySpace, Carah Faye and new blog entry with postee’s name Far Away Ranch Echo pointing to the Wikipedia page for folie a duex

- Pete Wentz posts a blog entry with an image that contains “folie a deux” and Shiny Toy Guns lyrics

- A crazy homeless man slides a CFOB pamphlet to a blogger at a art gallery opening
- The Decaydance Records site is once again “hijacked” twice on Friday August 22, 2008 with the following:


“Hacked By Citizensforourbetterment.com (again) for therecordbusinessisfucked. Bring Back Muxtape!”
“Your model has become a Controlled Fuckedup Overindulgent Business.”
“Please think of us more when you make decisions that affect the artist and the llistener.”
